Title: Peak

Type: Painting

Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

Size: 18”x24”

“Peak” can represent several things, whether it’s the physical peak of a mountain or talking about a specific time. This piece relates to the idea of desires that humans generate out of greed, where the “peak” is nowhere to be seen as people continue to want more. The two pink faces represent arrogance, with exaggerated features plastered on their faces hinting that people are willing to do anything to feed their egos, and just like the face protruding from their eyes, they are blinded by their desires. The mountain on the right is the “peak” that these arrogant people are trying to reach, yet remains far away due to their growth. The yellow faces hiding under symbolizes people who work hard to achieve their goals, yet these hard works are looked down upon by arrogant individuals who stand above them. The soldiers on the right indicate people who have been swallowed by gluttony, as they are still yellow yet act as puppets like soldiers being controlled. The slender figure on the left represents bystanders that witness these immoral acts caused by greed but cannot do anything about it.
