When I traveled to Japan last year, I was impressed with some girls in kimonos who carried small cute umbrellas through the street of Asakusa, Tokyo. This work is partially inspired by the design of traditional kimonos, beyond this source of inspiration, I also want to create a sense of mystery in this garment. The grey voile matches the calming atmosphere of the forest, soothing yet textured, creating a serene feeling for people. The objects hanging from the headdress is open for interpretation, emphasizing the idea of making it mysterious. It could resemble vines dangling off of trees or ears of rice that we see in fields, fitting into all kinds of natural environments. The veins in the chest area and thorns in the back grow out dynamically, almost as if they are trying to penetrate through something, mimicking how plants and trees grow in nature, vigorously and free.
