6th Grade Math

The focus in 6th grade math is to strengthen students’ number sense and mathematical reasoning while building the foundation for and introducing algebraic concepts. The 6th grade math team incorporates several projects where students can apply the math they are learning to real world problems and projects such as using graphing and absolute value to make a map of your neighborhood or using statistics to track the spread of a virus. In Grade 6 we will be focusing on five critical content areas:

Typically, homework is assigned at least three times per week and is focused on skills practice either in the student workbook, teacher created worksheets, or online applications such as Khan Academy.
