Teaching Philosophy: Education = Power, Power = Influence

Education is truly empowering and students have the power to influence their communities toward positive and safe outcomes.  I believe every student brings their culture, personalities, and thoughts to school each day that equips them to contribute something good to the class, their communities, and to society.  Through respectful communication and kindness, I intend to create a safe space for students to learn and collaborate.  We will learn and practice many skills daily including how to respectfully communicate, celebrate diversity, and think critically in order to set students up for success in high school, college, and beyond!  I aim to teach students how to breathe and move with intention, speak up when they see wrong, respect themselves as learners, respect the adults that are here to support them, and respect the spaces where they learn.

Interests

Ms. Pengosro loves to spend time with her family, especially her niece, Aria, practice yoga and meditation, and finding tasty recipes to cook or bake! Other interests include crafting, sewing, sketching and reading. She strives to find ways to be 10% braver and better each day by moving with intention, deep breathing and helping others do the same.
