As mentioned above, it is the crew and game team who will mostly affect these values, awarding or removing based on character actions. Characters can inform referees of situations that they believe may result in a change of the values by submitting a report to the Imperial Clan Box in the court. Like anything in this rulebook, this may be subject to change.
There are some abilities that characters can purchase that allow them to affect these values, such as the second level of the Calligraphy skill. Players should make referees aware if they want to use these abilities.
Anyone may spend their fleeting Honour or Glory cards at the shrine in the player area.

Only courtiers may spend fleeting Influence cards at the court, but they can spend other characters’ Influence too. This is to represent how the court is the realm of the courtiers. Courtiers may spend Influence on the behalf of anyone (including characters from other clans), provided they have donated at least one fleeting Influence card toward the cost.
Gain 1 common resource of your choice.
Gain a minor favour from the court.
Gain 1 uncommon or 3 common resources of your choice.
You can find an instructor for a non-specialist skill, allowing you to spend 1 XP on the skill between events to learn it. This includes proficiencies and weapon masteries. This does not include clan cyphers or clan duelling styles.
Gain 2 uncommon or 5 common resources of your choice.
Characters cannot purchase the same ability again, or stack the same power on the same person, within a respite period.
Characters can spend these fleeting resources by leaving a note in the Imperial Clan Box along with the spent resources to make the game team aware. If players want to spend over 5 at once or purchase something not on the list, they should inform a referee, or leave a Short Term Request Form within the Imperial Clan box.
