Traditional Indigenous Games are a fun and engaging way to connect with students and teach many outcomes across different subject areas. Participants will be introduced to a variety of fun and engaging games played by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples for thousands of years. You will explore practical ways to use the games in the delivery of your Physical Education curriculum, as well as connections in Math, Social Studies, Art, and Technology. This is an active session so come prepared to move, play, and explore Indigenous history through playing these games. Participants will leave with games that they can teach and play in class.
Please note that this breakout session is scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM & 1:00-2:15 in The KS Gym
