IITs are established not only for the purpose of producing techies but also for technical enlightenment of society. Students of IIT Jammu feel it is their responsibility to use their technical skills in solving problems of the society. We have a club named ‘PRAYUKTI’ which is devoted to social work.

On 13^th September 2017, some students conducted a workshop on 'Privacy and Security issues on Social Networking Sites’ at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bantalab (Jammu). Schools students were enlightened about dos' and don’ts on social media.

Learn to speak and Silver Classes

Learn to speak was an initiative of an exuberant group of students who helped in refining oratory and stage confidence skills amongst the people who were keen to learn.

A few students, who had significant knowledge about coding, started "Silver classes" to give people exposure in the field of programming. These classes helped students in their computer courses, and convinced them to take coding seriously.
