In order to meet the goals of the business, the firm has to organise their human resources intro structures. In smaller businesses such as sole trader firms, organisational structures can be informal wherein the owner may have different roles within the firm. However, larger companies have formal structures.

This helps a business function more efficiently due to:

  • Accountability --> Who is held responsible

  • Responsibility --> Who is in charge of what/whom
