About Project Lethe

What is Project Lethe?

Project Lethe is a collaborative volunteer project created by IBDP Alumni and current students in order to compile a resource website for IB students to use as a revision tool for their studies. Majority of the content was originally created and posted on a Google Site by the Co-Founders, Jonathan and Francine, as part of their CAS contribution during their time as IB students. Unfortunately, due to their graduation from high school, the Authors abilities to edit or update their original site was removed. In an effort to continue to contribute their collective knowledge and mentor current IBDP students, the Authors decided to re-create their original site with updated information and better content.

Why the name Project Lethe?

Asides from the Authors being big fans of the Percy Jackson series and its modern re-telling of Greek mythology. Ancient Greek would also refer to the river as Ameles potamos or the River of Mindfulness. The Authors felt that the properties of the mythical underworld river, Lethe were quite apt in terms of the way in which any person who partakes in the river's liquid immediately experienced complete memory loss and forgetfulness.

Since the Authors graduated high school and completed the IBDP, they experienced forgetting the knowledge and content that they spent 2 years persevering to study and learn. In their own way, the Authors decided to combat that memory loss by committing their shared knowledge into a vessel that was immune to the river Lethe's effects—thus creating this website, Project Lethe.
