Translation Notes
1) The official title has チグハグ romanized as “Chig-Hug”. I decided to translate it as “mismatched” instead of leaving it in Romaji throughout the English lyrics, as I thought it flowed nicer.
2) “Differences” is written as すれ違い, which has multiple meanings depending on context. It can mean passing by someone, failing to meet, or to be in disagreement about something, to name a few. I opted to go with “differences”, as I think it fits nicely with the rest of the lyrics without being overly pejorative.
3) “Flowery Knight” = 花岸 / hanakishi 🙂
4) 雅な花びら / “Miyabi na hanabira” - pretty obvious name pun
5) “Bring them forth and let them bloom” - Kaika Sengen reference: “We’ll make a new flower bloom / Now, let’s make this beautiful flower bloom”
6) “Can the darkness in my heart be driven away?” - It’s hard to tell for sure, but this might be a reference to Temma’s Shooting Star, “See, the limitless darkness that spreads at your feet /Raising the point of your sword to fight it off / Anyone’s heart would become dulled by that
7) “The Shooting Star that soars in your heart / Will grant your wishes” - again, Shooting Star reference
8) “Is it okay if I stay the way I am?” - more Shooting Star references!: “Even if you wish to become someone else / Don’t throw yourself away / The fact that you are who you are / Is the most important thing”
9) “Set your sights on what’s ahead - Don’t look back!” - works very well with this part from Kaika Sengen: “There’s scenery I’ve long since passed, and things I’ve lost and left behind / But if I look behind me for them, I’m sure to fall down / Finally, I face ahead, and I feel like I can start moving forward”
10) “Blossoming declaration” - Kaika Sengen, Miyabi’s 1st original song
11) “In this place we have arrived at” - more Kaikan Sengen: “All around I wandered, but this is the place I reached”
12) “I ♡ U” - the heart is read as “like” and they insist it’s just like. I’m leaving it as is. For reasons.

14) “I’ll shine down on you, so be in full bloom!” - Kaika Sengen references, especially when considering the live dialogue from 2nd act 🙂
