This project was created at the University in my first year, requiring us to get into small teams (3-4) to develop a game within a short deadline. The purpose of this project was to encourage us to collaborate and to iterate quickly under pressure. This was one of the first games I had worked on within a team and highlighted the challenges faced when working in highly collaborative and creative environments.
For the creation of this project, I took on the role of programmer and designer, where I was responsible for coding the gameplay mechanics and working with my team members to develop a story and the experience through building the levels. Our initial concept was inspired by games such as Mario, which led to features such as destroying enemies by jumping on their heads. The player also had 3 lives and would need to have at least 1 life remaining to reach the end and complete the level.
