Temasek Polytechnic partnered up with APSN for a Charity Fashion Gala at Marina Bay Sands on the night of Dec 8 2023.
We were tasked to create a fashion runway look for our assigned models based on the subcultures that we selected as a group. This was one of our first fashion-based assignments, and with no experience in sewing and a dream, we made it work.
We had only one month to work, designing and creating the outfit. We had multiple meetings with our model for fittings and also to involve our model in the creative process like checking in on what they are comfortable being in. We also had to work around an assigned garment that was given to us and incorporate it in our garment as much as possible.
Challenges: We had to adapt size S garments to fit our 4XL model, requiring significant adjustments. Additionally, we accommodated our special needs models' sensory sensitivities while working within a tight timeframe.

We had the creative power to plan for the make up and hair for the show and the opportunity to help with backstage dressing.
