Props are optional, but you may find them immensely helpful and even necessary at times. Props help us both ease into poses when we feel cold and tight, and deepen into poses when we feel warm and loose. The props below are recommended. Alternatives like books, blankets, scarves, and pillows technically work, but actual yoga props are much more comfortable and easy to use.
Any blanket will do, but having a dedicated yoga blanket that is easy to roll and manipulate for optimal support and comfort is sometimes nice.
The Manduka PRO yoga mat is one of the only yoga mats with a lifetime warranty. I've had mine since 2014 and will never go back to any other mat.
For a basic yoga strap, I recommend checking out the simple and cost-effective Reehut Yoga Strap. A strap is used to help us access positions, deepen stretches, and come closer to our edge.
A yoga block is a yoga block, so there's no need to buy a specific brand name. The Amazon Basics yoga blocks are perfect and come in a set of 2.
I love the YogaAccessories Yoga Bolster because it is the perfect combination of quality and value. The cute om lotus design on the end is also a nice touch, but this is also available in solid colors. The other end has a handle. The cover zips off for easy washing.
Meditation cushions can be used for more than just meditation. They also offer excellent lumbar support, knee support, and neck support in many postures. I highly recommend grabbing a couple of these to use during long lower body holds.
