New National Standards Approved for Oil and Fat Industry Enterprises

The State Enterprise "Ukrainian Scientific Research and Training Center for Standardization, Certification and Quality Problems" (SE "UkrNDNC") has issued Order No. 144 dated June 12, 2026, "On the Adoption and Cancellation of National Standards".

According to the document, 13 new national standards (DSTU) will come into effect on October 01, 2026. The specified normative documents were developed by the Technical Committee of Standardization 86 "Oils, Fats and Products of Their Processing".

List of adopted standards:

• DSTU 4230:2026 Soybean meal for feed. General specifications.

• DSTU 4492:2026 Sunflower oil. Specifications.

• DSTU 4534:2026 Soybean oil. Specifications.

• DSTU 4638:2026 Sunflower meal. Specifications.

• DSTU 4694:2026 Sunflower. Oilseed raw material. Specifications.

• DSTU 4966:2026 Rapeseed for industrial processing. Specifications.

• DSTU 7123:2026 Sunflower husk. Specifications.

• DSTU 7124:2026 Pressed granulated sunflower husk. Specifications.

• DSTU 7585:2026 Oils. Method for determination of erucic acid.

• DSTU 7618:2026 Cakes and meals. Method for determination of acid value of oil.

• DSTU 8175:2026 Rapeseed oil. Specifications.

• DSTU 9366:2026 Oils. Method for determination of fatty acid composition.

• DSTU 9367:2026 Rapeseed meal. Specifications.

DSTU 9366:2026 and DSTU 9367:2026 are implemented for the first time, while the validity in Ukraine of the corresponding interstate standards (GOST 30418-96 and GOST 30257-95) is canceled. Other documents have been developed to replace previous editions.

According to the order, the validity of the previous editions of 11 national standards is canceled from April 01, 2027.

The order is published on the official website of SE "UkrNDNC", and publication in the information index "Standards" is also foreseen. The preparation for the publication of the new national normative documents is entrusted to the Institute of Standardization.

Appeal from the "Ukroliyaprom" Association Regarding the Implementation Dates of New National Standards

The "Ukroliyaprom" Association, representing the interests of leading enterprises in the oil and fat industry of Ukraine, has officially appealed to SE "UkrNDNC" with a proposal regarding the effective dates for a number of new regulatory documents (Letter No. 15-07/32 dated June 2, 2026).

The Association requests the establishment of a single implementation date for 13 national standards newly developed by the Technical Committee TC 86 — starting from April 1, 2027.

The package of new standards covers key types of raw materials, products, and test methods in our industry, in particular:

• Raw materials: sunflower seeds and rapeseeds for industrial processing;

• Oils: sunflower, soybean, and rapeseed;

• Meals: soybean feed, sunflower, and rapeseed;

• By-products: sunflower husks, including pressed granulated husks;

• Test methods: determination of the fatty acid composition of oils, acid value for oilcakes and meals, as well as the determination of erucic acid.

As emphasized by the Director General of the Association, S. Kapshuk, this timeframe is objectively necessary for the stable operation of the industry. The implementation of new requirements requires time to carry out organizational and technical measures at the production facilities. Setting the proposed date will provide an adequate transition period, which will allow enterprises to adapt their processes to the new quality standards as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
