The interactive tables in the PDF document below can be used to see the progression within core areas of learning from Foundation Stage up to KS3.
In the Primary Years these are the Ready to Progress criteria from the DfE Mathematics Guidance.
In the Secondary Years these are taken from the KS3 Programmes of Study.
Within the tables are direct links to the Y1 - Y6 NCETM Exemplification materials and other resources relating to both the Primary and Secondary years which can be used to inform class learning or in small group or intervention sessions.
Having the small steps in learning aids understanding and will help to track learning back to a place of security for pupils/students while supporting them to make progress from their starting points.
Look for the most relevant table to your key stage.

Overview of Upper KS2 to GCSE
Each of the exemplification powerpoints linking to the Ready to Progress criteria includes the following:
Core representations which aid understanding of the structure of the concept
Language structures (stem sentences) which aid understanding through clear focus and repetition which helps to develop confidence and competence.
Key questions to ask which will support understanding
When addressing gaps in learning choose the relevant slides linked to a small step in learning.
Please note the PowerPoints are not meant to be whole lessons, they are designed to be used over a unit of learning. You will need to choose the relevant slides to address the gap in learning.
There are some helpful notes at the start of the PowerPoints.
Use of these materials to secure gaps in learning will require pupils to be active learners.
This will be gained through the use of manipulatives along with questioning and mathematical discussion.
The use of the language structures will also scaffold mathematical talk and reasoning.
