Safety is always and should always be our #1 priority in our classrooms, and lives in general. Knowing your machines and tools arent the only important things. although having proper knowledge on the tools you are using will allow you to effectively and safely use them. an awareness of your surrounding and self are extremely important especially in enclosed areas such as a shop classroom. being aware of locations of the emergency shut off switches and valves can prevent incidents from escalating further than they need to. an awareness of the location of fire extinguishers, eye washers, first aid kits or other things such as how to handle certain materials and chemicals. information like this can be found in many manufacturer msds
