Week 9

In this week something I felt that needed more explanation is the types of joints. for example. using butt joints vs scarf joints. in which situations is it best to use a butt joint over a scarf joint, what properties do each have and benefits/ disadvantages.

The examples of different bonding types have been very helpful and is often things we dont think about.

Surface finishes! one of my favorite things to see, especially watching random restoration videos. though the reasons are not necessarily only for asthetics. they can help in many other ways such as corrosion prevention, protection from UV rays that can cause fading, even waterproofing for some materials, which prevents deterioration.
