Special Project

Play Park

For this year's special project, we are challenging Patrols to build a Play Park.  This can be built out of pioneering poles, gadget wood, gutter pipe or broomsticks (or anything else). It can be big or small, simple or complex, traditional or novel - the choice is yours!

We will judge the Play Parks on Sunday morning before they are tested and enjoyed by all at camp.

Patrols will be allowed to build their Play Parks in an area outside of their sites so that they can be enjoyed by others when complete.

Participation

The Special Project is optional, but marks gained also count towards the main competition, so Patrols competing for the Emlyn trophy are strongly encouraged to participate.

Think you can dazzle with your pioneering skills but are not sure about joining in the full camping competition?  Why not come along as a non-competitive Patrol?

Scoring Criteria

100 points will be available for the Special Project, weighted equally across the following areas:

Additional marks may also be awarded via Judges' Discretion for those brilliant yet unexpected moments of Scouting ingenuity!

Trophy

The Special Project Trophy is awarded to the Patrol with the highest score.

Next Year’s Special Project

Patrol Leaders who take part this year will be asked for ideas for next year’s project during the PL’s Forum on the Saturday evening.
