REVISED PREVIS

After our feedback from the mentors, my team met and discussed the changes we wanted to make to our storyboards.
We needed to:
emphasize ingredients
show the product being enjoyed
have a motivation for the 'magic' to happen/ have an inciting event
layer the action of our effects so they don't look stagnant
and make sure our backgrounds were not just blank space
We all worked collaboratively on the the first pass of our new story board which now tells the story of an astronomy enthusiast in the desert who encounters a shooting star bag of trail mix who comes to realize that all the planets a he's been looking at in the sky are in fact, trail mix ingredients as well as discovering Planet Sahale in the sky. He documents his new found research and enjoys the night with his trail mix.
These revised story boards were done by Soi Park so we could more clearly show our new vision for the project :)
After our meeting, we set up our tasks for the week not only to support our new concept, but also according to the timeline we had set up at the beginning of the project to keep us on track.
My tasks are to:
Find shot references for out new story board
Finalize assets for our new environment
set up Dropbox pipeline for group work
start the models for our trail mix assets
I was able to start the block out of the trail mix bag and ingredients. My plan is to get as detailed as I can in Maya and then take those models into zBrush to add even finer details. This will be a fun challenge as I have limited experience with zBrush but I think that it will be necessary for the level of detail and physical accuracy we need for the project to be successful.
I went out and bought the exact trail mix brand and variety we're using for our project as a reference so having the actual object on hand has been great :)
