An Isreali company, GERDCare has produced a new approach to reflux reduction with the eGERD device.
According to the manufacturer's website, "How It Works
The eGERD is a digital therapeutic electro-stimulator, generating modulated asymmetrical electrical bursts of pulses synchronized with breathing. Abdominal muscles are contracted in an asymmetrical manner inducing improvement in the functionality of the Lower Esophagel Sphincter [LES] and reducing acid reflux from the stomach to the esophagus.
NeuroGastroenterology & Motility published a feasibility study in 2025 which concluded, "TESS is effective in reducing both symptoms and esophageal AET [Acid Exposure Time] in GERD patients," even though, "How TESS reduced esophageal acid exposure is not completely understood."
Further details will be provided when they become available.
