Mắt Trần Ensemble is a young collective based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Founded with the belief that art is for everyone, the Ensemble’s mission is to pursue a vision of inclusive performing arts by creating a contemporary storytelling language with movements, puppetry and breaths. The Ensemble’s creations are meant to be enjoyed by naked eyes and without any constraints of hierarchy, space or ability.
All of the activities are designed to break down barriers, to bring people together and generate conversations within the community. Mắt Trần Ensemble has collaborated with numerous local NGOs, NPOs, initiating art-based projects with communities who have restricted access to the arts, including but not limited to those of ethnic minorities and different abilities.
Mắt Trần Ensemble 是一個位於越南河內的年輕團隊。秉承藝術為所有人服務的信念，他們的使命是創造以當代敘事語言表現動作、偶、呼吸。其創作是透過肉眼欣賞，不受階級，空間或能力的限制。
Mắt Trần Ensemble 所有的活動旨在打破障礙，將人們聚集在一起並呼籲社區群體的對話。曾與許多當地的非政府組織，非營利組織合作，並與那些藝術資源有限的社區合作一些藝術計畫。
- 偶戲創作及願景 Mission and Vision
Mắt Trần Ensemble is invested in experimenting with diverse forms of puppetry. Their works are influenced and inspired by bunraku, Wayang shadow, Larry Reed’s cinematic shadow theatre, masks, Chinese shadow play and other theatrical forms. The Ensemble describes their missions as to “pursue an inclusive performance and create a contemporary narrative through movements, pupeptry and breaths.” All events and activities by Mắt Trần Ensemble aim to destroy boundaries and welcome free conversations.
Mắt Trần Ensemble 實驗不同形式的偶戲，其作品受到文樂、哇揚皮影戲、Larry Reed 的影戲、面具、中國皮影戲等劇種影響。團隊描述自己的任務是「追求一種更具有包容性的演出，透過以動作、偶戲、呼吸創造一種當代的敘事語言。」Mắt Trần Ensemble 所有的活動都是以打破邊界為目的，讓所有人可以都在這裡對話。
- 演出規模 Performance Scale
Mắt Trần Ensemble presented at least two to three plays each year between 2018 and 2020. Compared to traditional theatre, they prefer unconventional performance spaces, such as art galleries, alternative art and cultural spaces, outdoor spaces, temples, deserted houses, cafes and more. Upholding the mission of communicating with people, they have also been valuing opportunities for tours.
2018 和 2020 年間，Mắt Trần Ensemble 每年都有兩到三齣戲的演出。比起劇場，她們更喜歡非正規的演出空間，像是藝廊、另類藝文空間、戶外、公廟、廢棄房屋、咖啡廳等等。秉持著與人溝通的願景，她們也努力把握巡迴演出的機會。
- 國際交流 International Exchange
Mắt Trần Ensemble took part in the international puppet festival Pesta Boneka in 2018. They have also invited foreign art troupes to exchange ideas; unfortunately, the project was suspended due to the pandemic.
Mắt Trần Ensemble 曾於 2018 年參加國際偶戲藝術節 Pesta Boneka；也曾邀請國外團體來交流的計畫，卻因疫情被迫中止。
