JOINING THE GROUP

By joining, you agree to follow our terms and conditions.

  • Verification
Before applying to the group, you must undergo a verification process by filling out a form on our Discord server. The form can be found in the #verification channel, and it must be filled out to:

      • Gain access to the channels.

      • Apply for the group and become a member.

Anyone who joins the server must undergo the verification, or they'll be kicked out in a week.

Please note that your answers will be reviewed by our Staff team. Filling it out doesn't automatically grant you access, so please be patient and refrain from rushing the Team to approve it. Also, if we, as Staff, find something that may seem suspicious, we have the right to decline your access and application.

  • Multiple Accounts
Only 1 account per person in the group. No multiple accounts or backups. (Special exceptions will be granted if someone gets hacked or loses access to their old account, but they must let the admins know so they can kick the old account out.)

  • Age (+18)
Canidale is an 18+ group. Anyone below the age of 18 will not be accepted into the group. People caught lying about their age will be banned from the server and group.

  • Social Media & Activity
Your linked social media account (DeviantArt, BlueSky, etc.) should be at least three months old with a minimum of two (2) posts uploaded, whether it is literature or artwork. Artwork must be traditional or digital drawings.

      • Please keep in mind that you will be required to use a DeviantArt account to post your character applications at a minimum. If you cannot, then reach out and have someone else post your application on DeviantArt for you.

  • Language
The main language of this group is English. We welcome people of all nationalities as long as you can speak and understand English sufficiently without issue.

  • New Member Openings
For those who get accepted into the group during an opening, if you’re asked to send in the application, you have a month max to do it before we revoke the invite.

      • The staff team has the right to decline/reject your application if they find a reason to, or decline to give feedback if necessary.

  • Returning Players
Left Canidale and intend to rejoin? You must reapply through a group opening or an invite voucher from a friend. Any player who informs staff of their departure through the "Leave Canidale" ticket or by a message to the staff can bring back their character with the Notoriety/Council progress they left off with. However, the Group History section must be filled out.

    • Those who were removed after 2 failed ACs or left with no notice will have their progress wiped.

STRIKE SYSTEM

In consequence to a behavior breaking the rules, the staff may issue a reminder or warning, depending on the Severity of the rule broken. These are guidelines staff utilise for the handling of warnings and repeated issues with rule-breaking within the group.

  • Reminders
Reminders are simple nudges to let the players know when their behavior starts to cross boundaries. It’s nothing to be fretting about, since it happens to all of us. The best you can do now is to second-guess your actions before it takes place again.

  • Warnings
Warnings are usually sent out in the form of private messages, outlining the exact behavior of a player overstepping a rule.
Warnings follow a 3-strike system. If a player has broken the same rule more than once or acted inappropriately in the same way more than once, their warnings start stacking up. There is no way to take down a warning. Once you have received one, it stays with you forever.

  • 1st Warning - Simply a warning with no consequences via DM.

  • 2nd Warning - results in consequences appropriate to the violation. If it’s something regarding character creation, you may be prohibited from submitting new characters for a specified amount of time. For group activities, we may turn down your requests for participation in those.

  • 3rd Warning - Permanent ban from the group.

BEHAVIOR & ETIQUETTE

Certain behavior is not tolerated within Canidale and may result in warnings to players showing these behaviors if seen as a repeated issue.

By joining, you agree to follow our terms and conditions.

  • Respect
Please have fun and respect each other! Kindness goes a long way. Disrespect, bullying, and discrimination will not be tolerated. Such behavior will result in disciplinary action from our staff team. We are all here on our free time to have a stress-free experience. Be kind and respect the boundaries of your fellow members.

  • Harassment
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. There will be a 3-strike rule for minor instances and potentially hard bans for severe offenses without any warning.

  • Passive-aggressive behavior and excessive venting
Our lives are often full of stress and anxiety, but Canidale is a public space and not a place to let frustrations out. If you’re having a tough time, please take a break. The dogs can wait. Go for a walk. If you feel like this is a recurring issue, please consult a specialist. Take care of yourself so that we can all have fun together.

  • Personal Conflicts
If you notice a player in Canidale you used to have bad relations with, or maybe an incident occurs that drives you apart, please keep your disagreements private. The server chats are a public space, and nobody wants to be witnesses to somebody’s personal conflicts. If you have proof of the other person’s inappropriate behavior, you can send us a “report a player” ticket, and the staff will keep a close eye on them. However, we won’t help you resolve your matter. This is something you have to do yourself. Remember, communication is the key.

  • Exhibiting overly pushy behavior towards other players
Please respect other players and especially their no's. Everyone has the right to reject your ship/collab/art trade offer. If the staff team notices somebody visibly forcing themselves on other players, they will intervene.

  • Consent
All actions done to any character should be consented to by the players of those characters. No physical or mental exploitation should ever be forced upon a character without the consent of the player. Any of these actions still must comply with the content rules.

  • Drama/Venting/Smack Talking
We encourage members to keep drama to a minimum or avoid it altogether. Unnecessary conflicts can detract from the enjoyment of the community and disrupt the harmonious atmosphere we strive to maintain. While we understand that everyone experiences difficulties and bad days, it's important not to burden others with personal issues. Please refrain from engaging in negative discussions or smack-talking, including derogatory remarks about other species. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to ask for a private conversation via direct message. Keep personal conflicts unrelated to the server outside of our community space, and report any issues to the appropriate moderators for resolution.

  • Inclusivity
Embrace diversity and be inclusive of all members regardless of their backgrounds, identities, or beliefs. Discrimination or exclusion based on factors such as race, gender, sexuality, disability, or religion will not be tolerated.

  • Accountability
Take responsibility for your actions and their consequences. If you make a mistake or inadvertently violate the rules, acknowledge it, apologize if necessary, and make efforts to rectify the situation. Accept feedback gracefully and use it as an opportunity for growth.

  • Acknowledging Other Participants
When sharing your work or thoughts, please be considerate of other participants and avoid over-posting without engaging with previous contributions. This group is intended to foster a positive environment where members can enjoy the game together. As such, we encourage constructive interaction and mutual respect. Additionally, discussion of sensitive topics such as religion, politics, violence, medical information, and restricted substances is prohibited to ensure a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere for all members.

  • Mini-Modding
We kindly ask members to refrain from taking matters into their own hands and enforcing rules independently. Instead, if you notice any rule violations or inappropriate behavior, please report them to our staff via "Report a Player" ticket on our Discord server. While gentle reminders to adhere to the rules are acceptable, it's important to allow moderators to address the situation and maintain order within the community.

  • Conflict Resolution
Please handle disagreements and conflicts maturely and respectfully. Everyone in the group is encouraged to be respectful, so don't just assume someone is being rude. Engage in open communication and seek to resolve issues amicably. Refrain from escalating conflicts or engaging in hostile behavior. But don't try to mini-mod. If you need help, contact someone from our Staff team.

  • Contacting the Staff

      • Please do not DM the staff team on their personal accounts regardless of the situation. If you, for any reason, need to DM a specific admin, ask first. Messages sent to our personal accounts will not be replied to, and you will be asked to submit a ticket on Discord anyway.

      • We would highly prefer a ticket, due to ease of access on Discord, but if you do not have access to the tickets channel for any reason, you can send a group note. Please ensure you don’t reply to yourself in notes, as it will appear as though an admin has responded.

SAFETY AND PRIVACY

In consequence of a behavior breaking the rules, the staff may issue a reminder or warning, depending on the Severity of the rule broken. These are guidelines staff utilise for the handling of warnings and repeated issues with rule-breaking within the group.

  • Personal Information
Please refrain from sharing any personal or identifying information, such as real names, face reveals, addresses, or names of your schools/workplace, whether it pertains to yourself or others. This policy extends to non-members of the game as well, even if you have obtained prior permission from those depicted. Our priority is to maintain a safe and secure environment for all members by respecting their privacy and confidentiality.

  • Feedback &  Information Between Player-Staff
We understand some decisions or discussions may bring an upsetting emotion to you, but we kindly ask you to avoid sharing, mentioning, or openly discussing any and all information, feedback, or content privately shared between you and our Staff team, unless it's allowed.
This may lead to a warning or a strike for bad behavior and/or etiquette.

  • Safe & Comfortable Environment

      • Help maintain a safe and secure environment for all members by promptly reporting any inappropriate or concerning behavior to the appropriate moderators. Cooperate with moderators' instructions and decisions to ensure the well-being of the community.

      • When providing feedback or critique, ensure it is constructive and respectful. Avoid harsh criticism or derogatory comments that may discourage others. Offer helpful suggestions for improvement in a supportive manner.

      • Respect the intellectual property rights of others, including artists, writers, and creators. Avoid plagiarism, unauthorized use of copyrighted material, or any other infringement of intellectual property rights.

      • Avoid topics that may be uncomfortable or triggering to others, both in chatting or character creation, especially politics and religion. Make sure to add CWs and spoilers.

ACTIVITY

Since September 2024, due to many inactive characters taking up faction spots, Canidale has introduced activity checks.

Activity checks are going to be due at the end of each season (every 3 months) and will have to be completed separately for each one of your characters.

  • When and how do I submit my activity check?
Please use the form linked below to complete your activity check!
Click here to send your AC!

Once a staff member approves your AC submission, your character will be marked as "active" on the "Member Log" table. If there are issues, someone will contact you to fix your submission.

  • What pieces are eligible for AC?
Any piece of art or literature submitted to Canidale's DeviantArt group or within our Discord art/lit/RP channels.

    • The character's owner has to be an author or collaborator on the piece. Commissioned artworks or gifts featuring your character won't be accepted as proof of activity.

Currently, we are accepting unfinished pieces (WIPs) such as sketches or in-progress roleplays as well; however, the piece used as proof of activity has to be either started or completed during the current season.

For example:

  • For a WIP of artwork or roleplay in progress to be eligible for Spring 25's AC, it must have been started during Spring 25.

  • If an artwork or roleplay has been started prior to Spring 25, it is eligible for Spring 25's AC only as a finished piece.

  • If an artwork or roleplay has been both started and completed prior to Spring 25, it is not eligible for Spring 25's AC.

  • Can I ask for a lazy season for my character?
Sure! If you are going through a busy time in your life but still are keen on playing your character instead of an AC form, you can submit a request for a lazy season in the #tech-dog-den under the "Lazy Season" thread.

You can take only one lazy season in a row, and if it is a recurring situation, the staff can deny your request.

If you want to take a prolonged lazy season, please contact the admins via a ticket stating your reasons.

  • Do I have to submit an AC if my character was accepted within the same season?
Not at all! If a current member submitted a second character for Spring 2025, for example, that new character alone doesn't have to do the Activity Check for Spring 2025.

However, in the next season, they must submit for the AC.

  • Can I use a meme or medallion for my AC?
You absolutely can! We accept ALL artwork and literature as mentioned above, as long as it is from the current season. This includes memes and medallions.

  • Can I submit an AC from another website, such as Instagram or Toyhouse?
No. Unfortunately, all eligible pieces must come from either the DeviantArt group gallery or our public Canidale Discord server.

  • What happens when I fail to submit an AC check for my character?
All dogs without a submitted activity check will be caught by animal control and taken to the local shelter, also known as the "inactive character folder".

An inactive character frees up both a player's character slot and faction slot. If a player has no active characters, then they are given the "Missing Dog" role on Discord and cannot participate in certain events. Pieces submitted by inactive characters won't be accepted into the group gallery.

Other inactive character restrictions:

  • can’t participate in Canine Council meetings

  • can’t participate in Main Story Chapters or Seasonal Special Event prompts

  • won’t be approved for Mates & Litters, Notoriety, or Council level-ups

  • won’t receive badges for their SSE entries

  • can’t participate in the Rumors, Campaigns, or Roleplay channels

  • How can I make my character active once again?
You can get your character out of the shelter by completing one of the prompts below and opening the ticket "Deactivate/Reactivate a Character".

REACTIVATION PROMPTS

Requirements for a reactivation piece are the same as canon work requirements. Colored and with a simple environmental background for artwork or 700 words for literature. They must be uploaded to our Discord art-lit channel or DA group gallery before submitting to the ticket.

PETS

The days at the shelter seemed endless to you. You slept on the hard, cold floor, your kennel was so small you could barely stretch your bones, and your food bowl was always empty. Just when you had lost all hope of leaving, your owner suddenly appeared in front of the door to your kennel. Your tail immediately began to wag as you ran closer to lick the fingers that were squeezing through the bars. You knew that this had to be the last time you would end up here...

FARMSTEAD

You knew that ending up in the shelter was one big misunderstanding, and you couldn't spend another day here. After all, you had the whole flock on your shoulders. Who would take care of the sheep at night? Who would make sure all the hens were in the henhouse? Who would guard the property? So much time had passed, and no one had checked your collar yet. You knew that you had your owner's number there. You struggled with the collar for a long time, until at one point the clasp gave way and the thing slid off your neck and onto the ground. Leaning your front paws against the bars, you began to bark loudly for anyone to come and pay attention to you. Holding the collar in their mouths, they had to understand what you meant!

JUNKYARD

Maybe it was your first day at the shelter or one of the next ones, but it certainly wasn't your last. A vagabond like you has the right to go wherever he pleases! But luck wasn't on your side, and you ended up in those four cold walls. You were staring straight at the bars, waiting for the right moment. You were focused like never before. You had to get out of here, even by force. As soon as you saw the silhouette of the woman who changed your water bowl every day and the door to your kennel opened, you didn't hesitate to shoot like an arrow and run ahead. You put everything on one card, and the door to freedom was right in front of you.

STRAYS

For a stray dog like you, ending up in a shelter often meant a sentence. You heard stories on the street about dogs who spent their entire lives there because no one wanted to adopt them. Your chances weren't great either. You spent the last few days carefully observing the kennel you found yourself in. When it was night, you dug a hole under the wall to get to the other side. It was tedious and risky work, but you didn't intend to spend your entire life in this place. Tonight, as soon as the lights in the shelter went out and you knew everyone was asleep, you squeezed through the narrow hole in the ground and ran outside as a cold wind brushed your fur.

  • What if I lost interest in my only inactive character?
If you lost all interest in reactivating a sheltered (inactive) character and you have no other active ones, you have the option of creating an "exit" work. Essentially, this must be an artwork or literature following our Canon Work requirements, which is just your character exiting the group, whether they move out, relocate, or run away to a new town.

This will function as a "Reactivation Prompt" for them! After that, you can then submit a new character for review at the same time you submit an Exit piece to the "Reactivate/Deactivate" ticket.

  • Can I get kicked out of the group after failing the activity checks?
Yes, however, players will be removed from the group only after a season (three months) of having all their characters marked inactive. You can keep track of your character's activity status through our list on the "Member Log" page!

CONTENT

The staff team would like to allow as much freedom as possible as you create your stories in this group, within reason, but please use mature filters and properly label all adult content for the comfort of others in our community. As Canidale does allow some mature content in the group, and is made for those aged 18 and older, we do have guidelines on what content is considered acceptable or unacceptable. Using AI will not be tolerated as an addition.

  • Disclaimer
In any RP group, some subjects may be offensive to viewers. Reader and viewer discretion is advised. We cannot control if you are triggered by something, but we hope that these guidelines will prepare you for the subjects that you may find in Canidale. Please always heed Content Warnings in biographies and canon work. Characters are nuanced, and we do not want to suppress the development others wish to explore. The opinions and actions expressed through characters in RPs and artwork do not reflect the views or morals of Canidale and its players.

        • If you are discovered to be harassing/bullying or making rude remarks about a player because of what their characters do, you will receive a warning, strike, or even a ban, depending on the severity.

The following is a comprehensive list of dark topics we ban or allow in Canidale, both in backstories and in ongoing plots. It is subject to grow as more subjects are explored. Attempts to submit a character/plot with a banned topic will result in consequences.

  • Banned Topics

      • Sexual NSFW

      • Sexual abuse/assault and rape

      • Overly suggestive material (No sexualization of an animal)

      • Fetish material (Inflation, Vore, etc.)

      • Pedophilia and grooming

      • Underaged pregnancy/relationships

      • Incest

      • Necrophilia

      • Any implication of a human x animal romantically or sexually involved

      • Cannibalism (Including wolves and coyotes consuming a dog)

      • Extreme gore

      • Eating disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, etc.)

      • Substance abuse

      • Active religious cults (None in-group, backstories are case-by-case)

  • Allowed Topics (Handled respectfully*)

      • Mild to moderate violence

      • Abandonment

      • Murder and death

      • Abuse (Neglect, emotional, mental, physical, domestic, etc.)

      • Terminal illnesses

      • Intrusive thoughts

      • Mental exploitation/manipulation

      • Suicidal ideation/thoughts (No canon works of a character committing, though)

      • Mental health struggles (depression, anxiety, bipolar, DID, OCD, PTSD, and more)

      • Bigotry (classism, ableism, sexism, LGBTphobia, etc.)

      • Gender dysphoria and deadnames

      • Dog fight and animal lab testing backstories

      • Puppy mill/illegal backyard breeding backstories

      • Crime groups

      • Miscarriages and stillborn pups

      • Age gap pairs (Not allowed if they met while the younger one was still a minor)

*Staff Team reserves the right to reject a player's backstory or plot if they find that the handling of an allowed dark topic is only for shock factor or inappropriate.

  • Mental Health
We expect writers to have common sense and decency when writing characters with mental health struggles, such as CPTSD, Mood Disorders, DID, Personality Disorders, Schizophrenia, etc., and not have them be stereotypes. You’re more than welcome to pull from your own personal experiences or even ask for advice when writing about certain mental health struggles! Please do your research.

  • Sexual themes
Despite the group's age rating, Canidale will not accept sexual or overly suggestive themes in any capacity. An RP or illustration should never be taken to an explicit place. Anything further than kissing/nuzzling should “fade to black” and allow all other interaction in this regard to be implied. The nature of this group is based on themes of animals in children’s movies, so please keep that in mind when sharing content within the group.

  • Violence
Mild to moderate violence is allowed if your characters end up in a fight; however, extreme gore should not be shared within the group. You should never pressure another member to plot violent subjects if they do not want to. Mild cuts or injuries and blood may be illustrated, but please avoid graphic imagery (e.g., exposed intestines). If you are unsure if your content is too gory, you can submit a ticket for clarification. Once again, remember that the nature of this group is based around themes of animals in children’s movies, and while we do allow more violence than that, keep in mind a generally milder level of these themes.

  • Abuse
It's important to note that animal abuse of any kind is NOT to be encouraged in this group, though you may depict it for your own character development. Ensure you're not romanticizing the abuse. Physical abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect all fall into this category, and should be approached maturely and respectfully regarding any character development you want to achieve. Due to our restrictions on sexual themes, we do not allow sexual abuse within backstories.

      • More on Involving Abuse
There should not be pups involved or born during an abusive relationship to avoid loopholes, including rape/sexual assault in a backstory. Writers need to be respectful when writing about abuse and the victims of abuse, explaining how the abuse affects the character's life. Perhaps they are scared of being touched? Characters should not have abusive backstories for shock value, as it’s disrespectful to real victims of abuse. If you're unsure of how to write a character who was in an abusive situation, you're welcome to ask a staff member to talk with you.

      • Physical Disabilities
For physical disabilities, be it ones they are born with or gain later in life, please be sure to write how they live their life! Many dogs can adapt to a missing limb, blindness, paralysis, mutism, or deafness, but some may struggle. Be sure the disability affects them 100%, and it is not a pick-and-choose situation to make them seem like a victim.

      • Neurological Disabilities
For neurological disabilities such as a brain disorder, ADHD, or autism, refrain from writing them like they are “stupid” or a stereotype.  We have several members who have one or more of the above conditions, so please refrain from insulting them. If you’re unsure of how to write a character with a neurological disability, feel free to ask questions, and a staff member will happily assist!

  • AI-Generated Art and Writing
We do not tolerate the usage of AI to create artwork or literature. This includes using bots such as ChatGPT to generate a biography or to design a character. Grammarly and other rewriting software are also not allowed since it relies on AI to correct writing. If you are caught or suspected of using AI-generators, we will privately message you with a written warning and ask that you rewrite or redraw the content yourself without relying on the AI. Repeated offenses from the same user will lead to disciplinary action.

        • First offense: Warning and asked to rewrite/redraw content from scratch.

        • Second offense: Temporary 3-month ban from submitting new characters or content.

        • Third (Final) offense: Kicked out of Dogs of Canidale, both in the Discord server and DeviantArt group.

  • Advertisements
This is first and foremost a roleplay group. Therefore, any sales/adoptables/YCHs, or other art or advertisements for monetary gain (including site currency) will not be allowed in the group. You may ask permission to post advertisements of roleplay groups only.

  • Canon Work Requirements

        • Art requirements

  • Characters and NPCs in the canon work must match the reference sheet to the best of your abilities. Stylistic differences (eye style, shapes, etc.) are fine, but they should still resemble the original character.

  • It must have a background. It can be a simple landscape/cityscape/interior at a minimum.

  • Your character must be in the illustration. Headshot, bust, or full-body. All count.

  • It can be a solo piece or a collaboration.

  • If it is a collaboration, both of the characters must be in it.

  • It must be about something related to the progress of your character and their life in Canidale.

  • You’re more than welcome to draw a scene from the past. But we encourage more current story lines.

  • Grayscales and rougher art styles are welcome. Though it should be clear, it is not a sketch. Half-done work does not count.

  • It cannot be a meme or MISC artwork.

      • Writing requirements

  • Characters and NPCs should align with the written personality to the best of your abilities. Though, if they're going through personality updates, go ahead and show the progression!

  • It can be a solo short story or a collaborative RP.

  • If it is a short story, it must be at least 700 words per character.

  • If it is an RP, each character must have written at least 700 words total (if you add up each reply).

  • You must include the word count either in the description of the piece or within the document.

  • It must be about something related to the progress of your character and their life in Canidale.

  • You’re more than welcome to write or roleplay a scene from the past. But we encourage more current story lines.

  • It cannot be a meme or a MISC literature work.

      • Extra

        • Remember, when you're unsure about your representation, the best choice is to simply show the concept to the character's owner. They know best where the boundaries lie of how their character should look or act like!

        • Any canon work proof must be submitted to either the Discord art/lit/RP channels or the DeviantArt gallery. They cannot be linked from other sites (Toyhouse, Instagram, etc.).

        • If you're doing a solo piece (whether artwork or literature) featuring somebody else's character, make sure to ask for their consent beforehand!

        • If you use your own characters in a solo piece, it will count as canon work as long as you meet the art and literature requirements.

        • Each submission should have links to each featured character’s application and all creators' profiles (if roleplay/collab or featured in a solo) posted in the description.

        • In order for a submission to count as a canon work for notoriety rankups, the character's owner must have partaken into creation of the submission (Gifted pieces that meet the requirements of canon art can be used only for relationship points).

        • If your submission is for an event, such as SSE, Main Story, etc, make sure to add it to the description so we can easily tell it from regular, non-group event-related submissions. Make sure to include the prompt as well.

ARTWORK

  • Referencing

When referencing photos or videos to draw, we will only require a reference link if it makes up the majority of your piece. Generic poses such as standing, running, sitting, etc., do not need to be credited unless they are so heavily referenced that it is noticeable. Things like housing, landscapes, etc., do not need to be credited unless, again, it is so heavily referenced that we could find it in a Google search. Utilize your resources, but give credit where it is due. Moreover, avoid referencing other people's artwork unless you have their express permission.

  • Tracing

We do not tolerate tracing, and if you are caught tracing existing art or photos, we will contact you directly and give you a warning or ban, depending on repeat offenses. Be mindful of other creators and ask to reference their artwork or photos if you are unsure. Do NOT trace whatsoever and submit it to this group. It will be denied, and you will receive consequences for it.

    • Purposeful art theft will result in a ban from the group.

  • Application Art

Your application art does not have to be drawn by you! It can be gifted, commissioned, adopted, etc., but it MUST be rightfully yours (do not steal people's art). We do allow free line-arts and bases. This is to be friendly towards writers, as not everyone likes to draw. Please credit the original artists, though.

  • Canidale Specific Submissions

Art and literature shared in this group should be related to Canidale and not other topics. AUs (Alternative universes) are fine, but they must pertain to Canidale characters regardless.

  • Canon Art/Lit
To participate in the group's canon illustrations and literature work, the content needs to be created by you. You cannot commission or be gifted art that counts as "canon."

    • For art/lit to count towards character development, Notoriety, Mates and Puppies, or other in-game functions, the art/literature must be considered canon. In other words, it must be a full illustration/fully written out. It doesn’t matter if it is a full body or headshot, but it does need to have a scene background and not be a sketch. Even simple scene backgrounds are okay! Literature pieces must have at least 700 words per character.

EXAMPLES (Artwork):

EXAMPLES (Literature):

  • One of Us

  • Teaching An Old Dog New Tricks

  • A Fight for Rest

  • Tipping Tricksters

  • A Day at the Spa

  • New Friends in Unfamiliar Fields

  • Non-Canon Art
Other art that has a transparent or basic/solid-color BG, sketches, or a random floating character in a blank space is allowed in the group but does not count towards any of your character’s development or activity. AUs, such as a human form of your Canidale character, would also be considered Non-Canon. It must be placed in the Misc Art gallery.

EXAMPLES:

ROLE-PLAY & LITERATURE

  • Overpowered Characters
No god-modding, metagaming, or power-playing. Your characters should not be winning all the time, have knowledge to OOC information without consent, nor should you ever control someone else's character. Please be respectful to your plotting partner and give your character reasonable capabilities and/or injuries.

  • Realism
Please be realistic about your character’s situation! If they rock the boat or break the rules of their faction, there will be consequences for them, so make sure to discuss any major plot with the staff team for approval.

  • Deceased Characters & Death

      • IC killing and injuries are allowed but must be discussed and approved by both sides first, as well as the staff team for killing. Please refer to the “Content Rules” for more information.

      • As obvious as it may seem, it's worth pointing out that deceased characters may not be brought back into the group.

  • Switching Factions or Jobs
To switch factions or jobs, simply make 1 canon work (artwork/literature) depicting how it happened and submit a ticket using "Character Changes Approval" to notify us so we can approve and update the information! Please note that some jobs require a lot of training.

  • Relationships
Adolescents CANNOT be in a romantic relationship or have puppies until they age up to young adults. Moreover, if a relationship is showing signs of abuse, grooming, taboo content, etc., then an admin will intervene.

  • NPC Policy
As fun as it is to make random NPCs, you should only be making an NPC if it is imperatively important to the player characters. Canidale is centered around a dog’s life. While you may have NPCs that go along with your dog, remember to write from the perspective of your canine character, and not the NPC. See here for more on NPCs.

  • Content Warning
Provide appropriate warnings or content advisories for scenes or storylines that contain mature or sensitive themes, such as violence, explicit language, or romantic relationships. Respect the comfort levels of all roleplayers and ensure that everyone feels safe and respected during the roleplay.
    NSFW Content is prohibited!

  • Respect for Canon
Respect the established canon and continuity of the roleplay world. Avoid contradicting established lore or retconning significant events without proper discussion and agreement from the group.  If you're unsure whether something is acceptable or canon, please ask.

  • Character Development
Allow your character to grow and evolve through meaningful interactions and experiences within the roleplay. Explore their strengths, weaknesses, and motivations to create a dynamic and engaging character arc.
