Beethoven by Joseph Karl Stieler (1820)
A German composer whose works span the transition from the classical period to the romantic era in classical music. In the middle of his career, Beethoven started to suffer from deafness; however, the disability did not prevent him from composing. His most famous works are Symphony No.9 in D minor, Symphony No.5 in C minor, and Piano Concerto No. 5 in E♭ major.
