Cymbals are common percussion instruments. They are thin, round plates made of various alloys which affect their timbres. Cymbals are used in many ensembles ranging from orchestras, marching groups, and jazz or rock bands, and are usually incorporated in drum kits.

The most common cymbals are: crash, ride, and hi-hat.
