Warm-up: Can’t Stop the Feeling Dance Workout
Your teacher has created dance tracks for the project on GarageBand before the lesson. The tracks are a mash-up of songs from Dance Crazes, Hip-Hop, Heel & Toe Polka, Jive, Country and Bollywood dance styles.
For this Term’s dance project, in allocated groups, you are to improvise and choreograph dance steps to the set music track made by the teacher.
Listen to the dance track (on Google Classroom) to get an idea of what you need to include in your dance.
You have until Week 9 to create your dance and present to the class.
You may film your dance and submit on the Google classroom page by creating an iMovie if you wish.
If your group finishes early, you can add a freestyle section of a song of your own choice at the end.
The best performance per class MAY be chosen to present their dance at the next Creative Arts Showcase.
You can use the Chromebooks to access the music track on the Google Classroom Page.
You are encouraged to either film or journal your steps to remember your group’s progress for next week.
You must keep your own iPad each week for your group if you are filming or you may use your own Chromebook. Write the number of the class iPad your group is using in your Dance Journal.
Each week continue to rehearse. The teacher will make their way around the groups and give you any help you may need.
Good luck!
