Lesson 1: Move it! Exploring the elements of dance.
⬅️ Watch the videos that show different styles of music and examples of how Dance has changed over time.

- Rock ‘n’ Roll - Classical - Pop - Jazz - Disco - Instrumental
How does the music make you feel?
- Is it fast or slow? - Is it smooth or jerky?
- Is it soft or loud? (light or strong)
What was your favourite dance style and why?
Create a “DANCE” Splash page in their Creative Arts books (or on Seesaw) and draw pictures/words to reflect on the different styles of dance through time.

Share your ideas.
Each movement needs to be done for 8 counts.
Play some music and have a go at doing movements for each picture for 8 counts each to the music.
Go into small groups and use the dance sheet to create your own dance with your group.
