Lesson 1: Human Machines
Warm-up: Dance along to the Funky Robot- Just Dance Kids 2018
What is a Machine? What makes it a machine?
Play the robot music, "Around the World" and use your body to move like different machines in the house: toaster, kettle, blender, vacuum cleaner.
The teacher will call out a number and an object and you need to use that many people to create a moving machine. E.g. 4 - Toaster- (4 people make the shape and movements of a toaster).
When the music is paused you “Freeze” in your position as machines. Then the teacher will come around to each group with the magic pointer and turn the machines “on” to see them move.
Do this for a washing machine, microwave, car, fan, etc.
You can work in groups to combine movements to make a “Machine Dance”. Share your ideas with the class.
Lesson 2: Robot Movements
Warm-up: Da Funk- Just Dance
Remember moving like machines last week? Were your movements flowing or rigid? What is the difference.
Watch and follow along to the Dancing Robots Dance
Go into small groups and use ideas from the video to create your own Robot Dance.
This will be Part 1 of the Assessment Task for the unit.
Lessons 3 & 4: Robot Dance
Warm up: Pac-man Dance- Just Dance 2019
Go back into your groups from last week and continue creating and practicing your Robot Dance.
Share your dances to the class.
This is an Assessment Task (Part 1).
The teacher will take a video and photos of the dance on the iPad. You can watch your video in the next lesson and complete your self-evaluation reflection sheet.
Warm up: Vodovorot- Just Dance 2020
Watch the video “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles.
What do you think a submarine is? What is it used for? What are the parts of a submarine? What would you see inside and outside a submarine?
Play the "Yellow Submarine" song and move like a submarine, fish, periscope, propellers.
Your teacher will place you in groups of 6.
3 are to be the submarine and 3 are to be inside the submarine. What movements, actions could you do to show this?
You are to create a submarine dance to the song, by showing the movements of the machinery.
You can use coloured cloths as props to help you.
Practice in your groups and present their “Yellow Submarine” dances to the class next week.

Lesson 7: Moving to Music
Warm-up: The Floor is Lava Dance Game
Watch the following dance and dance along: Animals- Just Dance 2016
Discuss how effective it looks when 2 people dance together perfectly in time with one another.
You are to go in pairs and use an iPad to watch the video again.
Have a go at re-creating the dance with your partner.
You can make changes if you like.
You can share your dances to the class at the end of the lesson.

You can use a class iPad to watch your favourite dance and practice with a group of friends.
At the end of the lesson, you can share your dance with the class.
