The environmental performance of the revised design focuses on passive comfort for the Port Dickson coastal climate. The original proposal had potential for wind, courtyard, and shading, but these strategies needed to be developed more clearly. In the revised design, environmental performance is improved through cross ventilation, stack effect, west sun shading, roof overhangs, and an off-center courtyard that works as a ventilation core. These strategies help the retreat respond to heat, humidity, sea breeze, and strong sunlight while supporting the concept of “Stillness in Motion.”
