Bioscience Internship
Gain valuable work experience while volunteering in a research lab or biotechnology company.
Work part-time, minimum of 12 hours per week for one semester
Attend Biotechnology Internship Support class (BTEC 14B) - NOT OFFERED CURRENTLY, course substitution can be use to meet this requirement.
Enroll in Biotechnology Work Experience (BTEC 93) to get college credit for the internship.
Present your work at the BioSymposium (Explore Spring 2020 Virtual Internship Posters)
To qualify for the Bioscience internship program
For students who have completed some college biology and chemistry
Complete 4 units of lab courses in the Biotechnology Program
Complete BTEC 15 - Career Exploration in Science
Receive positive recommendations from the Biotechnology Program faculty
Requirements can be completed in one semester.
For students with little or no science background
Complete the Bridge to Bioscience Program and the Biotechnology Laboratory Assistant Certificate
Complete BTEC 14A - Biotechnology Laboratory Techniques
Complete BTEC 15 - Career Exploration in Science
Receive positive recommendations from the Biotechnology Program faculty
Requirements can be completed in 1 - 2 semesters.
