Host aN Intern 

The CCSF Biotechnology runs two innovative internship programs.:

• Bioscience Internship program:

  • 1 semester, part-time (180+hrs), generally unpaid internship

  • Internship host labs/organizations can come from any field of bioscience

  • Mentor Expectations

CCSF Biotechnology students are typically adults from diverse backgrounds (including some without any college degree and others with a 4yr degree or higher) who are training for a career as a laboratory assistant or laboratory technician, although a few plan to continue on to professional or graduate school. All Bioscience Interns have completed a basic lab techniques course or 4 units of more advanced lab technique courses (examples: PCR, mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, ELISA).

• Stem Cell Internship program:

  • 10 month, full time paid internship

  • Interns are paid by a grant from CIRM

  • Internship host labs/organizations must work with stem cells
