This was the first project for my CAD and manufacturing class, focusing on the precise use of hand tools. To make the basic frame, we needed to cut pieces of frame stock to exact lengths by hand with a hacksaw and miter box, then glue them together without gaps.
Using hand tools, we positioned and drilled holes for the corner brackets, which we countersunk flat head screws into.
After the hand-tool work was complete, I later milled slots into the back to accept the laser-cut acrylic legs that I designed.
Skills Used: use of hand tools, precision assembly, design for laser cutting, vertical milling, exact measurement
