Did you know that traumatic events experienced in childhood can still have an impact on you later in life? Research shows that survivors of childhood trauma often find themselves struggling to trust others, struggling with self-esteem, struggling with a heightened stress response, and find themselves out of touch with their feelings. So what can you do if you or someone you know has experienced a traumatic event? Themost important thing for a survivor of a traumatic event is to know that they have a support system. So, if you are a survivor of a traumatic event, reach out to people you trust. And if you know someone who has experienced a traumatic event, help them find a support system- and make sure they know that you’re there for them, and that you want to help.
