Let's begin with the visual application. Below is an explanation on all the parts of our drawn application, and how to upload it.
If you prefer to write your information down first, feel free to head on over to Written Applications where we have guides on how to fill out those!Β
With that all said and done, let's get to the visual application!
This is where your character's information can be quickly found at a glance!
- TOP SECTION -
ORIGIN
Mark down down which world your character was born in!
NOTE: Every player's first character MUST be Earth-born. After the purchase of ODD papers, they can originate from any world/dimension within reason.
- MIRSTONE INFO -
NAME
This one is self-explanatory. Put down the character's name they go by in Mirstone/Earth. You're free to place your character's preferred nickname there instead if you like!Β
Please avoid derogatory insult names.
GENDER
Your character's gender. This does not need to be your character's sex. Additionally, we accept anyone from on the binary to off!
BIRTHDATE
Write down your character's birthday! Please be sure to include the month, day, and year. (Preferably in that order to avoid confusion.) Note that your character cannot be younger than 16 years of age.
OCCUPATION
What is your character's job outside of Beacon? Are they a full-time traveler or do they like to destress in other places? Being a dimension-savior is definitely a lot of work. All cafΓ© workers are Beacon employees but not all Beacon employees are cafΓ© workers!
- DTV INFO -
ALIAS
Does your character go by a different name while performing work? Or is this their real name while traversing the dimensions? Up to you!
GENDER
Your character does not have to make their DTV match their true gender! It can be whichever gender they'd like. Get that gender euphoria!
RACE
This is self-explanatory. What is your DTV's race? They can be any species, ranging from official DND races, Final Fantasy XIV races, PokΓ©mon races, and more! Note that the only requirement is that they must be able to perform basic human tasks such as handling objects, opening doors, and the likes.
CLASS
What is your DTV's class? Below are the classes we accept at CafΓ© Phantasia. If you would like more info on each of the classes, head on over to this page!
Artificer
Barbarian
Bard
Blood Hunter
Cleric
Druid
Fighter
Monk
Paladin
Ranger
Rogue
Sorcerer
Warlock
Wizard
This is where we can get a good look of what your character's appearance along with their DTV! On the left, that is where you will put your character's appearance in the main world (aka basically Mirstone). The right is where you will put your character's DTV. Note that if your DTV has transformations, hold onto it and fill out the transformation meme with it! The same goes for travelers that don't originate from the main world.
For writers, if you are unable to draw your app art, head on over to Helpful Artists! You may commission or request app art from an in-group artist! If you would like to commission an artist that is not a member of the group, that is completely fine as well. Please be sure to include DM logs or a transaction screenshot so that we can ensure you did not steal any character designs.
THINGS TO NOTE
For the left, they must have a human appearance. While your character can have colored hair, they would be considered dyed and in-story, it will fade with time like any other dyed hair. Eye colors may be unnatural, however. Humans may not have any unnatural attributes such as feathers, scales, and such but they can be represented in the form of tattoos or freckles.
DTVs must be be able to look like they can perform basic human tasks.
Clothing-wise, all nipples are equally censored, regardless of gender. If women can't have their chest bullets free, men can't either and everyone in-between. We understand and agree with the #FreeTheNip movement, but due to allowing minors within the group, we unfortunately cannot #FreeTheNip.
If your character has no nips, however, go ahead.
YOU MUST HAVE FULL-BODY REFERENCES AVAILABLE FOR BOTH THE MIRSTONE AND DTV APPEARANCE. Please have the transparent images uploaded with the visual app in the "References" tab!
In the end, you get something like this!
CUSTOMIZATION RULES FOR THE APPLICATION
No, you may not change the colors of Church, the background, or the blackboard.
Yes, you may draw/write on the "TODAY'S SPECIAL" board behind your character.
Yes, you may change the little pins used to hold up the polaroids! Please keep it close to the same size.
Yes, you can absolutely draw an outfit on Church.
Do not draw your traveler petting/interacting with Church unless you are willing to draw a separate proper full-body reference of the Mirstone portion for illustrative purposes.
Yes, you can change the color of the chalk writing.
No, you may not change the font / rewrite the pre-existing chalk info.
No, you are not allowed to put redacted or redact any categories or information written on the chalkboard.
Yes, you're allowed to decorate the chalkboard as long as it does not obscure any information.
No, your traveler's DTV does not have to be restricted by the dimension of the polaroid and it does not need to fit their full body.
However! If you choose to crop a portion of the DTV out, please provide a whole full-body reference within the TH profile for reference!
The small polaroid is just an extra! You can put whatever you want/need within it. (Within reason, of course.) Examples include:
additional reference of either your traveler or their DTV
aesthetic polaroid
color palette
extra details you want noted of your characters
Respect House M.D.
Feel free to ask any additional questions in the #help channel!
Ignore the timestamps at the bottom right of the screenshots! Uploading a character to TH doesn't actually take this long. Ghost is just a very easily distracted person and has the attention span the size of a cashew.
When you join the group, we (the mod team) will provide you an icon that will act as your character's ID photo! This is kind of a hooray for you on making it in! It also makes the character gallery look really cool and organized.
Write their PREFERRED FIRST NAME with the FIRST INITIAL OF THEIR LAST NAME.
If your character's name is just longer than the character count, jfc.
If you prefer to use CSS in presenting your character's information, you may do so! However, please be sure to include these four fields:
BEACON ID# - will be assigned once accepted
DTV ID# - will be assigned once accepted
MIRSTONE RESIDENTIAL PAPERS - link to your character's papers
DND CHARACTER SHEET - link to your character's DTV
You may also integrate the papers into your character's TH profile, but please be sure to include all of the necessary fields.
NOTE: The "Advanced" tab at the bottom of the screenshot is personal to you and is your choice if you choose to alter it or not. It does not affect the group or its gallery.
This tab is where you will upload important references concerning your character such as...
applications
MANDATORY FILE
This can be past or present if you like to archive your character's visual development! It's up to you, but the most updated/recent version is mandatory.
transparent full-body artwork of your character's Mirstone appearance & DTV
MANDATORY FILE
This is needed for token/asset making reasons within the group!
minor references
Want to draw how your character looks without clothes to illustrate tattoos? Or maybe show a tutorial on how your character's hair is at different angles? Anything of this sort goes into here.
outfit memes
transformation memes
other-dimension appearance memes
tame applications
NOTE: You may create any additional tabs to sort your character's gallery. However, keep all references in this one tab for ease of access.
This will make sure all of your references show beneath your character's name on the left.
Sub-Gallery is not preferred because it will sort all your references at the bottom of your character's gallery. Once you flesh out the gallery, it's going to be a hassle, getting to the bottom to just retrieve references.
You will be led to the second image.
The caption can be whatever you'd like. This is personal to you.
Note that the image must be 4000 kilobytes / 4 megabytes to be accepted. You may use this site to help you compress the image or ask another member in the #help channel of the Discord server!
Privacies:
Please list it to "Full-Size" for both so that a watermark will not appear on the application. This is so that other artists can grab an unwatermarked version of your character's reference to draw. If you would like to place a watermark, do so manually in the image but don't cover any important information.
If you drew it, credit yourself.
If another artist drew your references, credit them.
If more than one artist helped you create your references, you may add them through the "+ Add another artist" button. Underneath the "Artist's username" box, you can find a button that says "+ add credit note" and you'll be able to list what they were responsible for through the "Custom" option in the drop-down menu. Below is an example of 2 artists helping in the creation of the application.
Depending on how you sort your TH gallery, the steps may look different from what is shown below. The REFERENCES tab should be right next to your character, though.
We're skipping the NSFW settings because your application shouldn't be NSFW, m'dude.
You will be led to the second image if the creation was successful.
If you receive a blank form of the current page, that means the upload was unsuccessful. Repeat the processes until it is successful. If you continue to struggle, ask in the #help channel of the Discord server and we can see what's up!
Then you are all done!
