Bury Village Hall

Bury Village Hall, in the heart of the South Down National Park, is available for bookings. The hall provides the ideal setting for many occasions and has a secluded village green beside it.

The light and airy interior is neutrally decorated and flooded with natural light, with a vaulted ceiling and large windows on two sides. The Hall is well equipped with a modern kitchen, projector and large wall-mounted screen, sound system and Wi-Fi. There is a car park on the south side of the building.

To the north side with direct access from the hall, is Bury Green, an acre of grass playground area with climbing frames and other items for children. It would also be possible to erect a marquee in this area. Please note that exclusive use of Bury Green cannot be offered as it is a village community space and must remain available for use by others.

The Hall is suitable as a wedding reception venue and is also suited for corporate events, fund raising lunches, Cub & Brownie weekends, family functions and other club activities.

The hall has been used in the past for youth clubs, badminton clubs and film clubs. Some equipment for these activities is available. Currently there is a yoga club, pilates, dancing clubs, monthly coffee mornings, a cinema and short mat bowling.

In the Sydney Room (a smaller room by the main hall) there is an 'After School Club' between 3:15 and 6:00 on weekday afternoons during term times for pupils of Bury C of E First School.

Please note: no high heels to be worn (due to damage caused to maple floor).
