The promotion and support of young researchers is a central concern of FG-DB, the database and information systems section of German Informatics Society (GI). The student program of BTW offers students and future junior scientists the chance to present their work to a scientific audience, to learn more about the area of “databases and information systems”, and to network and interact with academic and industrial experts.
We have invited interested students to apply to the student program of the BTW 2023 by uploading a short paper on their BSc/MSc thesis, their own scientific project, or their internship. Applications were reviewed and assessed by the student program mentoring team.
Accepted participants of the student program are:
Jüri Keller, Technische Hochschule Köln
Tarek Al Mustafa, Friedrich Schiller University Jena
Tim Fischer, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Best Student Contribution Award)
Jerome Thiessat, Technische Universität Dresden
Lucas Fabian Naumann, Technische Universität Dresden
Janik Sauerbier and Tim Gutberlet, both University of Mannheim
Florian Sold and Lukas Laskowksi, both Hasso Plattner Institute
Benjamin Uwe Killisch, HTWK Leipzig
Christoph Köhnen, University of Passau
The student authors of accepted papers have been invited to BTW23 and will participate at the full conference program (no conference fees), including a free conference dinner. Each student is supported by a member of the mentoring team during the conference.
Accepted contributions will be published in the Proceedings of BTW 2023 and presented to an expert audience during the → poster sessions of the main BTW 2023 conference. The best student contribution will receive an award, which will be presented during the → Reception at the Dresden City Hall on Wednesday night.
