Some digital materials may need to be restricted on the basis of containing information of a personal or proprietary nature. Types of information which are protected under the University Archives privacy policy include:
Private information:
Social Security Numberss
Driver’s license numbers
Employee id number
Biometric identifiers
Personal financial information
Passwords and/or access codes
Medical records
Personal information:
That, if disclosed, would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy
Law enforcement records:
That, if disclosed, would interfere with a pending or reasonably contemplated proceeding of that would disclose the identity of a confidential source
Life and physical safety information:
Any info that might endanger someone
Business trade secrets:
commercial/financial info that is proprietary/privileged/confidential
Info that would cause competitive harm to the business
Student records:
Admission records
Scholarship and/or award records
Personnel records:
Evaluations
Recommendations
Grievances
‘Privileged and confidential’ information:
Records with legal counsel marked as such
Executive session:
Board of trustee records not yet released by the Executive Board for public view
