Join us for the St. Barnabas Annual Golf Outing on Saturday, August 2, with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club in Hudson, OH.
This is a parishioner run event and this year will mark our 28th ANNUAL OUTING! Money raised from the outing will be used for the St.Barnabas community, including the school, parish, rectory, and assistance with multiple community programs to continue with our commitment to Catholic Education in various ways.

Keep your child’s skills sharp over the break with Summer Solutions! These workbooks are a great way to reinforce what students have learned throughout the year. Click the link below to order and help your student stay on track this summer!
All parents/guardians will be required to review and sign off on their child's enrollment packet, which includes acknowledgment of the updated 2025-2026 K-8 Student Handbook, Pre-K and Preschool Handbook, and Dress Code Policy. This is due by the first day of school for all Preschool and Pre-K students. Due by August 19 for K-8 students. To access the forms:

The online enrollment system will open with a link to the enrollment packet for each student. If you completed this information last year, the process will be quick, as most information will already be pre-populated for your family. Your information will be saved if you need to stop and come back later.

📚✏️ Summer reading and math assignments for grades K–8 are now available! Some grade levels have specific books to read and math skills to practice, while others include more general expectations and fun activities to complete over the summer.
Spending just a little time each day on reading and math helps keep young minds active, builds strong habits, and makes the back-to-school transition smoother. Whether it’s a chapter before bed, a picture book at the park, or a few math problems after lunch — every bit counts!

St. Barnabas Parish will host a VIRTUS training class, "Protecting God's Children for Adults," on Tuesday, July 15, at 6 p.m. in Bedell Commons.
This is a requirement for anyone who desires to work and minister to the youth at St. Barnabas Parish and School in sports, classrooms, volunteer, and various ministries. To attend, register by clicking here.
Through the St. Barnabas Edge program, middle school students receive an opportunity to grow in faith by developing a meaningful relationship with Jesus, a better understanding of our Catholic tradition, and help to plant roots for the adult years.
Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program that is provided by Life Teen. It offers a safe and fun place for youth to find a solid Catholic community, get answers to their questions about faith and, most importantly, experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.
We have a lot of fun with games & snacks, too! Edge is open to ALL incoming sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Join us every other Tuesday THIS SUMMER for a mix of social nights & movie nights, where we will praise our Lord through every fun activity we do together! Register for the 2026 Edge program here. Looking to keep your child sharp over the summer? One of our wonderful aides, Nicole Murowsky, is a certified teacher offering tutoring for students in Grades K–4 across all core subjects—Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science.

Attention incoming Kindergartners: Come meet some of your classmates and make new friends before school begins! Enjoy a morning of gymnastics, games, story, and make your very own My 1st Day of Kindergarten sign!
25-26 Tuition Bills -- will be emailed in mid-July once the State finalizes the EdChoice Scholarship amounts for next year.
Payment Plan Changes -- payment plan terms automatically roll over to the next school year. Current families who wish to change their payment plan need to notify us via email by Wednesday, June 18th. Payment plan options are: pay in full, semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly. Monthly is subject to a 3% fee. New families will pick a payment plan when setting up their FACTS account.
Annual SBS Educational Services Fee: $335 per student in grades PK-8 will be charged to FACTS accounts with a due date of July 15th.
EdChoice -- if you have not yet completed your application, there's still time!! We encourage all families to apply!
Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA) -- families receiving aid will see the credit applied to their July tuition bill. The Diocese is no longer individually notifying parents of award amounts.
Angel Scholarship -- Our school raised over $300,000 and every family that applies receives funds. Haven't applied yet? Here's the link: Angel Scholarship Fund Application. Reminder: ASF is open to students in grades K-12. It is one application per child, and you will need your 2024 adjusted gross income (AGI) number from your federal income tax return.
PreK Tuition Parish Grant -- The Parish has a limited amount of funds set aside to assist PreK families with demonstrated financial need. If you have not yet reached out, please do so by Wednesday, June 4th.
Cafeteria Prepay Balances -- positive balances will automatically roll over to the next school year in late June. Note: 30% of our families have a negative balance, so please log into your FACTS parent portal and complete the payment today. Negative balances not reconciled by Wednesday, June 4th, will be converted to an incidental bill, and a late payment fee will be added.
FACTS Refunds -- if your family is leaving us and you have a credit currently sitting on your account, we will issue refunds in mid-June. If the balance owed to you is less than $10, the monies are donated to our Cafeteria Student Assistance Fund

Not getting the Blazer Blast anymore? If someone you know isn’t receiving the Blazer Blast, they may have accidentally unsubscribed. They can resubscribe by finding a past Blazer Blast email and using the resubscribe link at the bottom, or they can visit the St. Barnabas website or contact the school office for assistance.

These messages are not legitimate. Always check the "from" email address carefully before replying, and do not respond to any suspicious requests. Stay cautious and report anything unusual.
Faculty and Staff Updates:
Sarah Leyden will be our new Kindergarten teacher at St. Barnabas. A proud graduate of Lake Erie College, Ms. Leyden brings a calm, confident presence and a clear passion for early childhood education to our youngest learners.
Mr. Joseph Cochran will serve as a 6th Grade Homeroom teacher, teaching 6th and 7th Grade Mathematics as well as 6th Grade Religion.
Christie Sheridan will be our new Campus Minister at St. Barnabas! With a deep love for faith formation and a strong background in Catholic education and ministry, Mrs. Sheridan brings both passion and experience to this vital role.
Mrs. Katie Schweninger has been named our new Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Achievement at St. Barnabas School! With 11 years of dedicated service as a teacher in our school, Mrs. Schweninger brings a deep understanding of our mission, students, and staff to this important leadership role.
Sherry Foss as our new Pre-K teacher at St. Barnabas! Mrs. Foss began her teaching career right here as a substitute teacher at St. Barnabas, and now returns with years of experience and a deep love for early childhood education.

Youth Choir Signup: The Barnabas Church Choir sings primarily at school Masses on Fridays at 8:30 am, but also for intermittent 10:30 am Masses. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays after school in the church. To sign up for the St. Barnabas Children's Choir choir, please fill out the form.
The PTU Sunshine Squad was established to support St. Barnabas families in times of need. If you know of someone who could use some sunshine, please reach out to us! If you would like to help, please consider the following opportunities:

Mark your calendars! Our summer uniform sale will be held on 7/24/25 @ 6-7:30 p.m. The PTU will be buying back uniforms in good condition. We will also be selling gently-loved uniforms to help you get ready for the upcoming school year!
You can buy skirts ($5), jumpers ($5) and other items ($2) on your uniform list! All financial transactions will happen through your FACTS account. If you are new to the school, we will save your "bill" until you get a FACTS account started this fall!

St. Barnabas is excited to launch School Safe ID, a new sign-in system to enhance safety, security, and efficiency for all visitors, late arrivals, and early dismissals.
The kiosk is now live in the school office. While it works without a license now, starting Monday, April 28, all visitors will be required to present a valid driver’s license to check in.

📱 You’ll be prompted to add a digital badge to your phone (optional)
🖨️ All visitors will receive a printed badge while in the building
This system also improves how we log student arrivals and dismissals, keeping our attendance records more secure.
