EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES 

Celebrating the European Day of Languages

      Throughout Europe, 700 million Europeans are represented in the Council of Europe's 46 member states and all are encouraged to discover more languages at any age, as part of or alongside their studies. This stems from the Council of Europe’s conviction that linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key element in the rich cultural heritage of our continent. The Council of Europe, therefore, promotes plurilingualism throughout Europe. 

At the Council of Europe’s initiative, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September - together with the European Commission.

      At I.E.S. El Tablero we celebrated it with our students of E.S.O and in the different sections, you can read about the activities they did and see some photos.

       Los 46 Estados miembros del Consejo de Europa animan a más de 700 millones de europeos a aprender otras lenguas a cualquier edad, dentro y fuera de la escuela.  Convencido de que la diversidad lingüística es una herramienta clave para lograr una mayor comprensión intercultural y un elemento clave en la rica herencia cultural de nuestro continente, el Consejo de Europa promueve el plurilingüismo en toda Europa. 

Por iniciativa del Consejo de Europa en Estrasburgo, el Día Europeo de las Lenguas se viene celebrando, desde 2001, el 26 de septiembre de cada año.

       En el I.E.S. El Tablero lo celebramos con nuestro alumnado de E.S.O. y en las distintas secciones podrán leer sobre las actividades que se hicieron y ver algunas fotos.
