Wildlife

Around Bettws we are rich in wildlife. In the river we have otters, kingfishers, trout and goosanders. On land we have newts, frogs and slow worms in abundance. In the sky we have bats, kites and buzzards.

The Lifehouse have been developing the land around the school as a conservation area. Their pond is alive with frogs. It has been decided to develop three further areas:

- Scotland - the area over the bridge by the Bull and Heifer

- An area of the churchyard - behind the rhododendrons

- The village hall side of the river bank
