Looking back we are immensely grateful to all those who worked so hard to establish the bowling club; which started as the dream, in the 1990s, of a green built into the sloping playing field next to the play-park. Despite vigorous fundraising, often in the village hall, in the form of bingo nights, auctions, quizzes, raffles…… the hoped for National Lottery funding bid was not successful. The dream changed; into one of a green in its present site, and after many more years of fundraising our fully self-financed, and self-built green opened in 2005.
