Bettws was pleased to be chosen by Newtown And District Automobile Club as the venue for the 2017 Holrus Targa Rally. We had a full entry of 60 cars but there were a couple of last minute drop outs on the day which meant we started with a field of 58. We had crews travelling from Merthyr Tydfil, Anglesey, and even Essex.

The overall winners were the local crew of Mark Lennox & Ian Beamond from Bishops Castle, in their MK2 escort, who won by a mere 15seconds, so you can see how close it was at the top, with less than a minute between the top five, quite impressive over a 70 mile route!

By the finish we ended up with just 34 finishers so there was quite a high attrition rate. It was a tough event for driver, navigator and seemingly cars / tyres!
