Dr. Suzanne Lenhart

Dr. Suzanne Lenhart is a Chancellor’s Professor and the James R. Cox Professor of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is also the Associate Director for Education and Outreach at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS). She is an applied mathematician that works with partial differential equations, ordinary differential equations, and optimal control. Currently, her work focuses on population models and applications to infectious diseases, invasive species, and natural resources. With more than 180 articles published as well as 3 books, her work is extensive. She is a Fellow of the Association for Women in Mathematics, American Mathematical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and SIAM. She directed the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program in the Department of Mathematics for 15 years and now continues to direct similar programs at NIMBioS.
