Dr. James Hyman

Professor Mac Hyman holds the Evelyn and John G. Phillips Distinguished Chair in Mathematics at Tulane University. He is the past President of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, an AAAS Fellow, and the former group leader of the Los Alamos National Laboratory Mathematical Modeling and Analysis Group. His research centers on quantifying uncertainty and creating disease transmission models to help guide the medical and scientific community better understand and mitigate the impact of an emerging infection.
