Dr. Alun Lloyd

Alun Lloyd is a Drexel Professor of Mathematical Biology; Director Biomathematics Graduate Program, North Carolina State University. He held postdoc positions in the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford, and in the Program in Theoretical Biology at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton NJ. He is at NC State as a faculty member since 2003. His broad interests lies in mathematical biology, particularly in the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases. His work on mosquito-borne infections includes modeling the use of genetically modified mosquitoes to control dengue virus. He is also interested in spatial processes in epidemiology, ecology and evolution, parameter estimation and uncertainty quantification for models of biological systems.
