Dr. Arni Srinivasa Rao

Arni S.R. Srinivasa Rao is a Professor in the Division of Health Economics and Modeling in the Department of Population health Sciences as well as the Director at the Laboratory for Theory and Mathematical Modeling in Augusta University’s Division of Infectious Diseases. Has taught and researched at Indian Statistical Institute, University of Oxford, Indian Institute of Science, and University of Guelph. Currently he teaches as Augusta University Medical College of Georgia, but prior to teaching at AU he held a permanent faculty position at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He has won Heiwa-Nakajima Award in Japan, DST Fast Track Young Scientists Fellowhip in Mathematical Sciences in New Delhi, the ISCB23 Conference Award for Scientists in France, as well as the Gold Medal for M.Sc Topper at Andhra University. He has also been working on an App with another research at Augusta University that will help people know if they are at risk for the novel coronavirus. His work primarily focuses on disease modeling and population dynamics, but he also has interests in a variety of mathematical modeling including machine learning and AI in medicine.
