Yes, Lipscomb University has advising services. All freshman are assigned an Academic Success Coach who will advice them along with being their point of contact.
Students at Lipscomb will be assigned a faculty mentor that is in their chosen area of study. They will help with securing internships, career opportunities, etc.

Disability Services Information
Yes, Lipscomb University has an ACCESS Program with staff who can help provide accommodations to students who need support in their classes along with housing and dining accommodations.
The ACCESS program provides academic accommodations such as extra time and reduced distractions for exams, note taking software, audio ebooks, etc.
They also provide housing accommodations for those who may need a single room because of sensory needs like needing a space to wind down alone.
Dining accommodations for those with dietary restrictions such as celiacs or a peanut allergy can also be provided through the ACCESS program.
For students with ADHD and autism, ACCESS staff recommend they participate in academic coaching. These meetings are based on the student's needs and can help work on executive functioning skills, time management, soft skills, etc.
The ACCESS program will work individually with each student to make sure they are receiving the appropriate accommodations.
Students can submit past 504, IEP, or accommodation forms to help determine appropriate accommodations for college.
Staff will coordinate with each student to ensure their needs are met with the accommodation services they receive.
*It is recommended that students accept all accommodations that they might need because they are not required to use them in every class.
If a student begins taking a class and realizes that they are needing more accommodations, they are always welcome to discuss this with the ACCESS program.
Students submit their accommodations through an app that will let professors know what accommodations to provide for each student.
This does not share the student's disability with the professor allowing the student to decide whether they would like to provide this information.
The ACCESS program ensures that professors are very understanding of students needing accommodation services.
If professors are resistant to a student's accommodations, the ACCESS program can help to intervene and advocate for the student to receive the accommodations they need.
Professors also have the opportunity to contact the ACCESS program directly if they need help incorporating a student's accommodation request.

After submitting an intake form, staff will reach out to set up an intake meeting and have you submit your documentation.
You can also talk with the ACCESS program at the resource fair once admitted to discuss how to apply.
Students are required to provide documentation with their diagnosis stated and signed by a licensed provider. An example includes a psychoeducational evaluation.
The ACCESS program recommends that you wait to apply for services until you receive you student number and email address because the center will want to communicate with you through your Lipscomb email address.
They recommend waiting until May to apply because applying during March/April will make the process a little slower due to them being busy with preparing for finals at that time.

The BEST program is for degree seeking students with disabilities who will receive accommodations through the ACCESS program, but will also have added support for independent living skills, social skills development, organizational skills, and academics.
Students in the BEST program will meet with their supervisor one time per week to check in on homework, discuss preparing for tests, help with understanding available resources, and helping with executive functioning skills.
They also will receive peer mentors during their time at Lipscomb to help with the social component of being a college student.
BEST students have a large group event each month along with biweekly dinners with other participants.
To be apart of the BEST program there is an extra $5,000 fee per semester, but it can be covered by Vocational Rehabilitation.
To apply, you must be accepted to Lipscomb, and then email Paige Travers at pnreece@lipscomb.edu to fill out an interest form.
You will be required to provide:
Documentation of disability (such as IEP, 504, and/or psychoeducational evaluation)
Two letters of recommendation (someone who can talk to your academic strengths and growth areas)
Two written responses (Questions: Why do you want to come to Lipscomb? Why do you want to be apart of the BEST program?)
BEST staff serve around 15 students and accept around 8 new students each year.
They also can help students connect to career services to help with finding a job after graduation.
