Possibility Place is a christ-centered day program in Murfreesboro, TN that provides opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to grow academically and gain independence by focusing on their abilities and strengths to create community involvement and personal growth. Program Information
Participants are put in groups of 8 based on academic level and participate in classes taught by qualified teachers throughout the day.
They will also go on outings, volunteer in the community, go on field trips, participate in group therapy sessions with a licensed therapist, and have the opportunity to participate in Special Olympics.
Possibility Place focuses on:
Continuing education: participants will have classes in areas such as computer skills, functional reading and math, language, and thinking skills
Daily living skills: participants will develop living skills including nutrition, meal planning and preparation, money skills, home care, health, hygiene, personal safety, and community safety
Vocational training: participants will have the opportunity to develop and maintain the vocational skills
Community involvement: participants can engage in volunteer opportunities, trips to parks, the library, shopping, etc., and attending community events
Social skills: participants get the opportunity to learn interpersonal skills, physical health, and mental wellness
Each participant will have an individual program plan to determine objectives and goals in order to cater their classes and experiences to fit their specific needs and interests.
Transportation is available upon request.
Possibility Place hosts a job club for their participants where they help to teach job skills and can facilitate finding a job.
Some participants work out in the community while attending Possibility Place on their days off.
*Since finding a job is not the main goal of Possibility Place, they accept participants who might not want a job and can support them for as many years as they want.
It is located in Murfreesboro, TN at First Baptist Church at 200 E Main St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
Possibility Place is open Monday through Friday from 9am-3:30pm with extended hours if needed.
No, participants can join the day program from two to five days per week depending on preference and availability.
No, participants are required to bring their own lunches every day except Fridays. On Fridays, all participants help to make lunch together.
There are 30 participants in the program, but they are always accepting more.
Each month, participants have the opportunity to connect with God, self, and others through a variety of activities.
Once a month, caregivers of adults with disabilities meet to discuss related topics.
A fun night out for individuals 18+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dinner is provided, and these individuals have the opportunity to play games, watch movies, and socialize with others.

To qualify for Possibility Place, you have to be:
At least 18 years old
Have a documented intellectual disability or autism
Independence with feeding and toileting
No aggressive behavior or uncontrollable emotional outbursts
Have the ability to function in a group of 8 independently
Safety awareness while in a community setting
Proof of medical insurance
Upon admission, they will receive an academic test to see which group they should be placed in with peers of a similar academic level.

2 Day Track: $304 per month
3 Day Track: $456 per month
5 Day Track: $760 per month
Possibility Place can provide financial support through a Tuition Assistance Program using the Federal Poverty Level Scale.
There are also sometimes opportunities for donors to provide scholarships for participants who need help with paying tuition.
