1964: Northern Air Taxis Ltd was initially established by Ernest Crabtree at Leeds-Bradford Airport and specialised in executive charter and air taxi flights, as well as being the sole authorised dealer for Cessna in the UK and Ireland.
In 1969, the Northair Aviation Ltd brand was adopted as the company expanded into Cessna dealership.
01/01/1989: The Brown Group, parent company of Capital Airlines, takes over Northair, and absorbs their long standing aircraft and maintenance operations, as well as gaining addtional hangar and office space.
In 2024 the Northair name was re-incorporated as a company focusing on buying, selling and brokering of aircraft.

Northern Executive Aviation Ltd (NEA) was a long-established British executive charter and air-taxi operator based at Manchester Airport. The company was incorporated on 27 December 1961 and commenced charter and hangarage operations from Manchester in 1963. Aircraft maintenance was added to the business in 1970, and a significant executive-aviation/FBO operation was subsequently developed .
Northern Executive Aviation was acquired by Ocean Sky Aviation Ltd and the legal company name changed to Ocean Sky Jet Centre Ltd on 8 November 2007.

1963

NEA commenced hangarage and charter services from Manchester Airport.

1970

Aircraft maintenance became part of the business.

1980s–1990s

NEA developed into an established executive/business aviation operator, including Learjet operations, alongside its maintenance and charter activities.

2005

NEA came under new ownership. This is specifically stated by managing director Mike Foley in Business Air News in March 2007.

2005–2007

NEA underwent substantial expansion. Its maintenance facility was extended to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft and its managed charter fleet expanded rapidly. By March 2007, five Learjets were scheduled to be operational.

7 September 2007

Business Air News reported that Ocean Sky Aviation had acquired Northern Executive Aviation in a multi-million-pound deal. NEA employed approximately 60 people and operated two maintenance hangars at Manchester Airport.

9 August 2007

Companies House recorded a director resignation and a new director appointment, during the period immediately surrounding the Ocean Sky acquisition.

8 November 2007

The legal company Northern Executive Aviation Ltd changed its name to Ocean Sky Jet Centre Ltd.
