Jersey Airways was an airline that operated air services to and from the Channel Islands, with its maintenance base at Portsmouth Airport, later moving to Southampton Airport in 1935. 18/12/1933: First commercial service commenced between St. Aubin's beach, St. Hellier to Portsmouth.01/12/1934: Channel Islands Airways became the registered holding company for Jersey Airways Ltd. and its subsidiary Guernsey Airways Ltd.10/03/1937: Jersey Airport opened allowing Jersey Airways to operate a fixed timetable.03/09/1939: Operations ceased due to German occupation.In 1947, the government nationalised UK airlines, and Jersey Airways became part of British European Airways (BEA).
