The program commenced in the afternoon with a Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Nelson Bisco, CM, underscoring the integral role of faith and prayer in fostering academic and personal growth. This spiritual foundation served as a poignant reminder of the values that underpin the educational journey at Adamson University.
The event proper was hosted by Ms. Iedsif Croain Cadano of the Adamson University Psychological Society (AUPS) and Ms. Roexanne Athiena Sorilla of the Physics Society of Adamson University (PSAU). Following all introductions, Fr. Daniel Franklin E. Pilario, CM, President of Adamson University, delivered the welcome remarks. He eloquently reflected on the institutionโs rich history over its 92 years of existence and its contributory figures over the past four decades, celebrating the academic advancements and the profound impact the COS has hadโand will further inspireโon the broader community. Dr. Eleanor S. Austria, Dean of the College of Science, also took the stage to express heartfelt gratitude towards the COS community, encourage students to pursue their passions, and positively impact the world. Her remarks highlighted the resilience and dedication of the students and faculty, who have tirelessly contributed to the collegeโs legacy of excellence, and the 5 โpriority areasโ she wishes for the College of Science in its journey to academic excellence.
After a brief icebreaker to foster a spirit of collaboration and engagement, the Mathematics & Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, and Biology Departments introduced themselves and their respective administrators, faculty members, and RSOs via audio-visual presentations, emphasizing the remarkable achievements and hard work of each department. The event also culminated in captivating song, dance, and even roleplay performances by both faculty and students, showcasing their diverse talents and creating an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and camaraderie. Students and other audience members remained fiercely engaged throughout each departmentโs presentations.
Apart from the four departments from the College of Science, the Assembly also invited performers from the Computer Science and Information Technology Departments, since their distinction from the COS and the birth of their separate college, the College of Computing and Information Technology (CCIT).
The night concluded with endearing and angelic song numbers by members of Adamson Universityโs College of Science Chorale, and Ms. Moureen A. Viray, President of the Alliance of Sciences Student Council, delivered impactful closing remarks that highlighted the significance of the COSโ illustrious past and potentially innovative future.
